Caldic's DEIF inspiration days 2023 - Focus on PICUS
After the successful first edition of Caldic’s DEIF inspiration days in 2022, we look back on an extremely successful edition again this year.
As for the first edition, the large number of registrations made an expansion to multiple days a must in order to welcome the many enthusiastic partners who had signed up. We look back on four fun and interesting days where the focus was on PICUS, Cyber Security and the premiere of the iE250!
Cyber Security and PICUS
Cyber security on board ships is steadily becoming an increasingly important topic, confirmed by the arrival of new IACS legislation as of July 1, 2024. Whereas current cyber security measures in our industry often focus on securing networks, the focus is now increasingly shifting to securing individual controllers and computers. These days, DEIF presented a strong solution that helps protect controllers from malicious software.
Also discussed in detail was PICUS, the software package for programming DEIF controllers.
Premiere of the iE250
A nice highlight of the DEIF inspiration days was the premiere of the new controller iE250. Soon this intelligent energy controller for land applications will be on the market, after which the marine approved version is not expected to be long in coming. The iE250 is another fine innovation from DEIF that is very intuitive to operate and set up and features a large and clear touch screen.
In addition to the presentation, there was plenty of room for hands-on training and project specific questions.
